NATURE'S MANY FACETS paintings by Jeanne Tepper

Meet Jeanne at ALL's Reception on

Thursday, August 11, 5 - 7 pm

As a child, color, pattern and music fascinated me. Drawing, colored pencils, dotted watercolor paper and paint by number kits were threads of joy woven through my early childhood. Middle and high school art classes stretched and encouraged my gravitational pull towards art. But my dream to be an artist was set aside by the need to make a “decent living”.

Upon retirement and moving to Lincoln I was given the gift of paint and explore various mediums including watercolor, acrylics, oils, cold wax and oil and mixed media. Days now are spent in my studio surrounded by art supplies and music, weaving the various threads from early childhood dreams into a tapestry of color, pattern and texture. My goal is to share the joy and excitement I feel when I communicate with others through the universal language of art. A Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design led me to a satisfying 42 year career in a field utilizing, in various ways, many of the drawing and painting skills I’d accumulated through classes and workshops.

AQUA ARIAS  by Susan Berg

Meet Susan at ALL's Reception on

Thursday, September 8, 5 - 7 pm

My passion for being outdoors in the brilliant changes of seasons inspires my imagination, and I find myself wondering about "the story” in a moss-covered pond, or roiling cloud patterns, or shadowy silhouette against a doorway. I want the viewer to be drawn into a painting to explore those passageways.

The sound of water flowing gently down a creek is calming. Similarly, the nature of watercolor is to ‘float’, allowing the pigments to flow freely and settle onto the surface …effectively letting the water do the work. It is by layers of color allowed to dry between applications that the rich jewel-like glazing effect is created - producing luscious, juicy, translucent depth in glowing colors that seem to vibrate from the surface of the heavy rag papers.
