Carolyn McNabb -- Carrie's Artworks![]() | ARTIST’S STATEMENT: My favorite media are watercolor, watercolor pencil, colored pencil, ink, and sometimes pastel, acrylic, and metallic ink. I experiment with drop shadows and different weights of black outlines to create a stained-glass look. I enjoy experimenting with different shades of the primary colors, and white and black, to create color palettes for watercolor. I like to add borders that tell their own story around the main image. I mostly draw from my imagination. When I attempt to create something realistic, I’ll refer to a photograph or model, but my drawings have a mind of their own. One drawing started as a tree and turned into an elephant holding a rose. Art is where I find peace and joy. I hope you enjoy my pictures as much as I enjoy making them. BIO: Carolyn McNabb grew up around artists and drew for hours and hours as a child. Carolyn earned her way through the world as a math teacher, but always included art – geometric constructions, drawing 3-D figures, tessellations. Now retired, she has time to pursue art. Her work has been on display at the Blue Line Gallery, the 580 Gallery, and several other venues in the Roseville – Lincoln – Auburn area. She will be part of the Placer Artists Studio Tour in November 2022.
